How To Maintain Passionate Love In A Relationship

passionate loveMaintaining passionate love in a relationship is an on-going effort. Couples usually have high feelings of romance and infatuation at the beginning, but these emotions naturally fade as time goes by.

However, you shouldn’t let your relationship stagnate. Otherwise, you risk letting the flames of passionate love fizzle out for good.

Complacence is the number one killer in a relationship. Just because you no longer feel like keeping the passionate love alive, it doesn’t mean that you should stop doing it.

Couples drift apart when they let the mundane aspects of their daily routine get in the way of nurturing fondness and admiration for each other. Don’t make a mistake of not making an effort after you’ve gone past the honeymoon phase. You have to realize that relationships go through different phases of evolution.

After you’ve gone through the “falling in love” stage, you’ll gradually get to know each other’s not so endearing qualities. You’ll also come to realize just how different your values and opinions are about key issues in your relationship.

Every couple goes through this. As such, you need to safeguard yourselves against the natural decline of romantic feelings that occurs over time.

This is why you need to create a solid foundation of positive emotions which will help you get through the bad times. Conflict is inevitable, but you can weather the storms by keeping a conscious effort to sustain the romantic feelings you had at the start of your relationship.

Don’t underestimate the importance of doing the little things such as taking time to kiss your spouse in the morning or complimenting them. A little dose of physical and verbal affection goes a long way.

Also, don’t forget to make time for “we time.” No matter how hectic things get, you need to set aside a time of the day or week where you can go back to being the kind of couple you were before all your obligations and responsibilities came along.

By reminding yourselves of why you fell in love in the first place, you’ll be able to maintain the passionate love in your relationship.
